Merry Christmas!

I know there are many who celebrate this time of year. Some celebrate the solstice, some Hanukkah and other celebrations.
As a child I was taught this time had no special meaning. I was taught all the logical reasons this could not possibly be the birthday of the Christ child.

As an adult i thought about it and I decided, who cares if it is not logical? It is a time to celebrate our Lord who came and took the sin of the world on himself. It also occurs to me that God is above logic. He can raise the dead and  create a world (look at the intricacy of a butterflies wing and explain how that just happens!) over coming logic is easy!

So for those who wish to celebrate the birth of our lord at this time i post this.

Luk 2:1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
Luk 2:2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
Luk 2:3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
Luk 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
Luk 2:5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
Luk 2:6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
Luk 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luk 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
Luk 2:9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
Luk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Luk 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Merry CHRISTtmas.

  1. I hope you, your Beloved and your family had a wonderful Christmas season, Mel. May the new year be rich with blessings, peace and contentment from our Savior.

Your comment about the butterfly wings reminded me of something Darling Husbie said to me the other day. We were talking about the oceans. I made a remark about wondering why God would create such incredibly beautiful, vibrantly colored creatures and place them in a place no one ever sees. He told me not to assume He created them for the human eye ~ perhaps He created them for His own pleasure. I couldn’t say another word after that! I had to sit and ponder on that one for quite a while.

Love, hugs and prayers for you, Dear Friend.
