I have a dear friend I used to spend a lot of time with. We lost touch over the last several years. She had an antique shop I used to help her with.
On my way home from church yesterday morning I drove by and saw she was opened again after many years of being closed! I was so excited I drove around the block and came back to park.
Rosie is still her sweet self and I realized how much I have missed her friendship over the years.
I discovered yesterday also that Rosie is an artist. I mean a true artist her paintings are gorgeous.
Plus she has a wide variety of antiques and vintage items in her shop on Chadbourne. For my local friends I urge you to check her out. Her shop is located at 915 N. Chadbourne Street. She has everything from original art to a midcentury modern Ericofon telephone.
She has a hand crafted baby cradle that someday just might make it into my sewing room to hold rag dolls, if no one snatches it up at its low $50 price!
I adore tables with pull outs. She has 2! This square one is beautiful. You can tell the former owner only used it as a small square table, because the fold outs are a much deeper brown than the square top part. Look at these awesome turned legs! I tried to get a picture under the table but that did not come out very well.
She has a large selection of art glass too. Fenten and Westmoreland among others. Carnival glass and a set of pink depressions glass cups with a pitcher that I may have to put on layaway… Since my friend Sue Ellen gave me the creamer and sugar that match the cups and pitcher. For some reason the pictures of it turned out yellow, but it is definitely NOT yellow!
I spent today with Rosie’s dd Cindy setting up her face book page and a store email account.
I miss my days as a vintage reseller.. I may have to get active at it again!
