Cooking! LOL I made the Thai chicken wings today. Beloved says they are excellent! :cool-smiley-026:
I am reading 3 books right now, snippets of eash here and there. (I am not getting very far very fast, I plan to begin going to be earlier so I can read and still do my Bible reading at night)
One is Cultivatiing Contentment.
It is one of the Women of Faith study guides. I have only read a little of it. It seems to be stuff I already know, but it is nice to get confirmation!
Another one is The Art of Abundance by Candy Paull.
I had never heard of this lady before. Her book is ok, full of snippets, scriptures and poetry and such. However some of what she calls abundance I call wishful thinking and avoid it.
Such as a bit I read today, if you want to live in Paris, and you do not, dream about a day in Paris.
To me that makes no sense. The point of the book it seems is supposed to be finding the abundance in life as you live it. Wishing you could be somewhere or someone else even for an afternoon, seems contrary to the point to me.
The 3rd book is a history book.
Our Country's Founders
A book of advice for young people (adapted from the Sacred Honor) Edited with commentary by William J. Bennett Editor of The Book ofValues.
I have never heard of any of these books, and it is a lot of writing just for the front cover.
It is full of letters and stories and such of the founding Fathers, and other patriots from the revolution. It is not reading to use to while away a lazy day, it is written in olde english in parts. It is however interesting. I am thinking it will go on the back burner, I have more books i wish to read and lately my brain has just been stewed! I do find, I miss some of the genteel formality of the writers. Todays books are so... ordinary.
I have been reading of sewing, and to do lists lately too. I want both.
I am thinking i will get up and begin the challenge tomorrow
I need to plan to sew every day, and knit, and read as well as clean my home and cook. :jumping-smiley-017:
Guess I need to take more iron nightly. I took 2 pills last night instead of 1 and I feel better today. Of course that could be my imagination but I plan to test it out!
hugs y'all
