I finally finished reading The Virtuous Woman by Vicki Courtney.
I loved it. She and I agree on quite a bit.
However let me warn our dresses and head covering sisters, she is not in that group. We have gone over my understanding of those issues before, and I am comfortable with hers enough to still recommend this book.
She takes an in depth look at the Proverb 31 lady and dispels some of the mystery and intimidation involved with her.
She gives accurate descriptions, based om the original languages, of what it takes to become a virtuous woman.
A further warning, she does not use the KJV. However it is a simple thing to pull out what ever Bible you use and look up the listed scriptures.
This is one of the first modern studies i have read that really made sense and did not go over board on the woman power women can be anything track. Most claim the Bible is old and does not mean today what it said back then. Mrs. Courtney does not. She feels as I do that the Bible is as clear and up to date today as it was in the 1st century.
She is clear on submission, and how it should work. She is the only woman speaker I would really like to go and hear.
As 1 Peter says, her outward appearance does not over come the truth of her spirit.
