I have been thinking and praying on this for several days.
Here are what I think are the big tickets.
1)She is prolife. Even when it affects her personally she is prolife
When I first heard Senator Obama’s statements, from his own lips, comparing an unwanted child to a punishment, lumped in the same stack as an STD, I tried to shrug it off. I remember thinking that it would get unfairly blown out of proportion. How ever the more I ignored it the more it bothered me. I prayed over it and the reality hit me. He was saying an unplanned child is just as bad as an STD. No matter how he or anyone else spins it now, that is the root of what he said. That is not a Christian stance.
2)She is pro gun. For years the UN has been after Americans to give up their guns. Thankfully they have been unsuccessful. One of the founding principles America is built on is our right to defend ourselves. If it had not been for the citizens having their own arms, America would never have happened. We can not let anyone, especially the world according to the corrupt UN, take away part of what makes us the USA. Jesus says, had the strong man known what hour the thief was coming, he would have protected his house. We must be ever vigilant, because the thief is at the door.
3)She is pro marriage. Marriage was created by God to be one man and one woman. He tells us this more than once. God himself condemns gays to hell. No one worthy of public office, including judges and senators, can say otherwise. For a Christian to support some one who denies God’s command is not to be. We have no business supporting anyone who goes against God.
4)Her time of service. Mrs. Palin began her service as a small town mayor. She has served on AK’s gas and oil commission. She is Governor of AK. Her years of service range from 13 to an estimated 15 years. If we can have as president the Gov of Arkansas, which is a relatively small state, surely the Governor of Alaska, which has more national and world wide issues to handle qualifies. Compared to Senator Obama, she is old hat. He was elected 3 years ago and of those 3 years has served 143 days… or 4.7 months. Not even half of a year, and yet people think he is qualified?
5)For all the frenzied digging, the only thing that has come up has been she fired a state trooper and is being investigated for it. Sarah Palin does what she sees as the right thing to do, not the popular thing to do. Christians are to be strangers in this world. Of all the folks in the running, Sarah Palin fits this description better than any of the men. My gut says she is the Deborah of the USA. God sees as He did in Israel, no man truly totally qualified and so He brings us a woman, to show the men how it should be done.
6)For those who say but a woman can not lead. Peter says he suffers not woman to lead in the church. Not in business. There is no prohibition to women working and running for office. UNLESS her husband is against it. Mr. Palin seems to be for it, and is behind her 100%
7)Energy. Sarah Palin is all for alternative energies, and she is for using our own country’s gas and oil instead of importing it. Importing it gives others power over us. “Do what we want or we cut you off”. Sarah Palin wants the USA to be autonomous, as we should be. Remember God says His people are separate from the world. I know a lot of folks think the USA is not a Christian country. Those folks are wrong. The UN which can not get us to submit to its world court, and can not get us to agree to let them control our guns, is now trying to get us to let them control our cars. Sarah Palin says we should control ourselves, and if there is corruption, she has the man stuff to find and weed it out. She has already proven this by going up against the big boy network, and succeeding to correct it.
8)Her stance on “global warming” is the same as mine. If it does exist, it is not man made. Personally, here experiencing one of the coolest summers, and having last year been the coldest winter I have had yet in Texas, I have serious doubts it does exist. I however have NO doubt man can not affect such drastic changes. ONLY God has that kind of power.
9)So far as I have seen her detractors have only been able to put up a defense of smoke and mirrors. None of the “accusations” I have seen hold any water. I am certain she is not perfect. I am equally certain she is a true Christian woman, doing her best to help this nation reassert its Master and its true purpose. I have no doubt her acceptance was achieved through much prayer. I say lets give the woman a hand and as wives and mothers lets turn this country around before it is too late.
Some are saying McCain picked her to gain the women voters. I don’t think so. I believe Senator McCain is struggling. He knows he himself has made grave errors in his Christian walk, and he has repented of them. He knows he needs a strong Christian to help him guide the country. I think he picked the best, strongest, most unafraid Christian he could find.
If we want TRUE change, it is not going to come about by electing a man who would follow the world’s example. It will come by electing the ones who are unafraid to follow Christ. Who will stand up for what is right even when it is not what is easy.
