Hello ladies! My name is Allison and I am 29 years old and reside just outside of Philadelphia. I am married to my wonderful husband of 6 months (been together 6 years though!) and have been a Christian for 6 years. I am a special education teacher and serve as a teacher on a multidisciplinary evaluation team in Philadelphia. I am currently working on a dual M.S/PhD as a licensed, practicing psychologist with a focus on youth and young adults. I am a certified applied behavioral analyst and Autism specialist. I am a nondenominational Christian and am very involved in our church. I am the co-leader of our womens' group and youth group programs and sing in the worship band. I love to read, learn new things, spend time with family and friends, cook, crochet (when I have time) and I also coach colorguard for a nonprofit organization up in the Allentown, PA area.
Recently, I have been feeling convicted to drastically change my way of worshiping and living as a Christian. I feel as if I have been living in the "gray" areas - justifying other peoples actions (including my own, too!), being passive, lukewarm about different things, compromising my Christian walk by hanging out with people I shouldn't and participating in activities that I shouldn't be.
The LORD has placed it upon my heart to begin caring for the home that my husband has provided for me - I have lyme disease very badly and it keeps me confined to the couch for 99% of the time that I am home, when Im not working. This has left our house in disarray and I have a bad case of the CHAOS (Cant Have Anyone Over Syndrome :)). My husband has been picking up the slack, but he shouldn't have to! We order out almost every night because Im too tired to cook, clean, or take care of my husband. So anyway, The LORD has made it clear that I am taking our blessings for granted and not doing what I am supposed to be doing. I hope that by associating with you fine ladies that I may learn a thing or two about the right way to be a Christian wife and homemaker!
